This course is designed for students preparing their medical school applications (usually in the summer before the October deadline).
The Medic Portal have designed an enhanced BMAT course specifically for BioGrad students! This course far exceeds the options they deliver in schools with over twice the teaching hours and additional material not available with The Medic Portal through any other provider.
Please do not be alarmed at the change in course provider, we have spent a lot of time analysing the results from each provider and students who study with The Medic Portal on average obtain higher grades for UCAT and BMAT exams, plus The Medic Portal courses are the only pre-med courses endorsed by The Royal Society of Medicine!
Course outlines remain mainly unchanged, but the quality of the course content has improved (based on student feedback reviews and student score analysis).
BMAT Overview
Monday: Introduction to the BMAT & Section 1 Logical and Spatial
Tuesday: Section 1: Verbal
Wednesday: Section 2: General Skills & Physics Part 1
Thursday: Section 2: Physics Part 2
Friday: Section 3: Writing Task
The Medic Portal have hundreds of independent five-star reviews on Feefo and have won Gold Trusted Service Awards in both 2019 and 2020. No UCAT/BMAT providers are providing in-class teaching at the moment, so the course will be delivered via a live web link on the main lecture screen and each student can access their own portal for performing the work on their laptop. The lecturer can see each student and observe their work at all times during the sessions. BioGrad will also provide a medic in each room to make sure students have an on-site lecturer to answer any questions or help with IT issues.
All students will need a laptop, pen and UCAT students will also need a basic calculator.
If you do not have access to a laptop please let us know in advance and we will make sure we have one available on site for you to use.
Additional Support:
5 Days of Teacher-led Lessons
Receive expert BMAT instruction, as your teacher guides you through the BMAT exam section by section, providing you with strategies to categorise and approach each question type, both at a basic and more advanced level.
6 Practice Tests
These can be completed after the course once you have learned the methods and strategies of how to approach the exam.
Personalised Reports
After you have taken each practice test and submitted your answer choices, you will generate a score report. Each report will breakdown your performance by test section and even question type, which will help target your study to the areas requiring most help. This section of you online study centre will also house the detailed explanation to each question.
Draft Essay Feedback
The BMAT essay is unlike any other essay that students would be used to at A-level. We teach you how to write an essay that will gain the most marks in the exam and mark up to 6 attempts until you master it!
Video Lessons
You will be granted access to our complete library of recorded video lessons, as part of your online study centre; useful to refresh your memory on what was taught in your live class sessions. Access will last until the BMAT test date this year.
